Menoreh Mountain Tea by Elder Suko is made from hand-picked, tender, young tea leaves. The fresh tea leaves are processed traditionally, slowly dried and sun roasted in hand thrown clay pans. This produces tea with a unique flavor and high antioxidant properties. Menoreh Mountain Tea by Elder Suko has rich flavor and strong antioxidants that are refreshing and good for health.



Menoreh Mountain Tea by Elder Suko is produced by the Rich Land Farmers Group, which is a member of HAS Co-op. Elder Suko, as the chairman of the group, shows great care for the mountain villagers. He often employs mothers and elderly persons, who live around the tea plantation and support their families through daily picking and processing tea leaves.



Prior to joining their co-op the tea farmers sold their raw tea leaves at a very low price to collectors from corporate tea factories. Tea factories processed and packaged the tea for sale at a much higher price. This spurred Pak Suko to form the Rich Land Farmers Group to train mothers and grandmothers to process the tea leaves they collect into roasted tea which they can sell at a higher price so that they can help their family's economy.
