Sumatra Coffee is one of the coffee varieties originating from Sumatra which is the most delicate textured and tastes the heaviest and complex among the various coffees in the world. Most of Sumatra’s coffee is dry-processed, but part of it is through a semi-washed process. Coffee from Sumatra mainly coming from Small Holder Farmers.



Sumatra Coffee is very famous for its Mandheling or Lintong which grows on the southern coast of the island of Sumatra. Sumatra coffee that grows more towards the West is known as Gunung Gayo coffee. Sumatran Gayo Coffee is described as coffee that has a sweet and clean taste. Coffee experts who want to buy Sumatra coffee usually see aging from Sumatra coffee beans. These coffee beans emit a “land” and “spice” flavor. This is a unique feature of Sumatra coffee beans that makes it one of the most sought-after coffee types of coffee in the world. 



Coffee in Sumatra grows at an altitude above 900 meters above sea level, the higher the better the quality of the coffee.The planting of coffee plant seeds should be carried out in the rainy season because of the availability of water for the aunt’s coffee to live from rainfall.

The life of coffee farmers in Sumatra is now getting better and more prosperous as coffee prices increase, so the enthusiasm of farmers to maintain their gardens is higher through good coffee cultivation patterns with integrated care systems, integrated pruning, sanitation and harvesting.



From the coffee harvest, farmers can send their children to universities in big city cities such as Medan and Java (Jakarta, Bandung, Jogja). The hope of farmers for coffee prices can be higher so that they can improve their standard of living.
