**Coconut sticks** are one of the main ingredients often used in making traditional brooms, especially broom sticks. This stick is taken from old coconut leaves, resulting in a material that is sturdy, flexible and durable.





### Process for Making Coconut Sticks for Brooms:



1. **Selection of Coconut Leaves**: The coconut leaves used must be old and healthy to ensure the quality of the sticks produced.



2. **Drying**: Coconut leaves are dried until the midrib is easily separated from the leaf bone.



3. **Lidi Separation**: The leaf bones (spikes) are taken from the midrib, then cleaned from attached leaf residues.



4. **Cutting and Flattening**: The stick is cut to the desired length and flattened for easy processing.



5. **Binding**: Sticks that are ready to be collected and tied to make brooms or semi-finished materials.
