Tahitian vanilla comes from a cross between Vanilla planifolia and Vanilla odorata. These two species differ in appearance and taste. The result of the cross between the two produces a vanilla variant with a floral, fruity, sweet and mild soft flavor profile with a higher oil and water content. In addition, Tahitian Vanilla Beans Grade B has a shorter, wider, and flatter characteristic. In addition, this vanilla has a length of 10-15 cm, moisture 18-20% (quite juicy and oily), vanillin level of 0.9% which means it is quite aromatic and has a distinctive vanilla taste (The higher the vanillin level, the aroma and taste produced will be stronger) . Tahitian Vanilla Beans are usually used to mix sweet foods such as bakery, ice cream, and others. In addition, it can be used as a cosmetic ingredient.



Each 1 kg of black or dark brown vanilla is packaged using a vacuum sealed plastic bag or wax paper (you can request as desired). The shelf life of this vanilla is <2 years.



The following are tips that can be done to store vanilla beans:



1. Stored at a temperature of 15-25 degrees Celsius



2. not exposed to sunlight (can become dry)



3. Stored in a cool and dark place to keep moisture



4. stored in an airtight place for example in a plastic vacuum or in an air tight container
