Indonesia is one of the largest CTC black tea producing countries in

the world, therefore we present MELCHI CTC black tea to you true

MELCHI certified CTC black tea is processed by the process

(Crushing, Tearing, and Curling) of chopping, tearing, and rolling wet

leaves into powder then followed by fermentation, drying, and sorting.

Most MElCHI CTC black teas are produced using the Camellia

sinensis var. asamika. which is spread across the best tea plantations in

the southern part of Ciwideuy Bandung at an altitude of 1650 - 2000

meters above sea level which has an air temperature of 20'C during the

day and 5'C at night.

This variety has 11 clones of gambung tea which are characterized by

cylindrical stems that are green and slightly brown in color with a

slightly crusty grooved surface, with blunt pointed leaves at the base,

10-14 pairs of leaf veins with slightly blunt, regular serrated leaf

edges, tapered leaf tips, wavy leaf faces, light green leaf color.

The advantage of the gambung clone is that it has a very high

antioxidant (catechin) content, is resistant to opt, smallpox, and has

the potential for superior quality, resulting in a strong taste, deep color

and attractive aroma.
