Temulawak, scientifically known as *Curcuma xanthorrhiza*, is a medicinal plant native to Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia. It belongs to the Zingiberaceae family, which is the same family as ginger. The plant's rhizomes, which are reddish-orange in color, are rich in active compounds, particularly curcumin, which gives it its distinctive color and many health benefits.
