Rakau is a word in the "Maori" language (a tribe of indigenous Polynesian people living in New Zealand) that means wood. The choice of Rakau as the name departs from a dream and hope that in the future Rakau can rebuild relations with fellow "nesian" archipelago clusters. Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia in the past were closely connected to the Majapahit-era. Rakau is committed to choosing teak and wood grown in Indonesia. This is part of Rakau's effort to remind him of Nationalism as well as to introduce Indonesia to a wide audience. Rakau was founded on 19 October 2021 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
